Eating Well

I was so lucky to grow up in a household where good health is a priority. My parents always infuse our daily dinners with a variety of vegetables, and I was always taught to eat sweets in moderation. As a young adult, it has been increasingly difficult to maintain good health while juggling all other demanding areas of life. As I get older, my appreciation for good food only grows, so I have decided to really limit my intake of sugar and carbs to leave room for a more balance diet. Of course I will not suppress my sweet tooth, but I will try to limit the amount of sweet things I eat. Although I do love the saying, ‘life is too short – eat dessert first,’ my health has become a priority. Right now I’m really craving some simple, delicious, and light Mexican food. A few chips and salsa doesn’t sound too shabby, right?
